1. Asphalt Granules in Your Gutters
When asphalt shingles are manufactures, they are covered in mineral granules. This is what gives your roof durability. If your asphalt shingle roof is newly installed, then finding these granules in your gutters isn’t something to worry about. However, if there is a large deposit of granules in your gutters and your roof is more than a few years old, this could be a sign of severely weathered shingles.
2. Animal Presence
This is a very subtle indicator of possible roof damage. You see, wild animals are great at locating tiny holes on your roof that they can nest in. This is a serious issue and one that needs to be addressed right away. If you hear small animals running around, be sure to call in your roofing contractor for an inspection.
3. Buckling Shingles
This issue is a little bit more obvious than the previous examples mentioned above. The problem is that they can be pretty difficult to spot from ground level so it is often overlooked. This is why it is very important not to skip an annual roof inspection.
