According to Trex CEO James Cline, demand for composite material as a replacement for traditional wood components has accelerated at a faster pace with the introduction of products such as Enhance® composite decking materials. To meet the demand, Trex Co. Inc. plans to invest in $200 million in new manufacturing equipment, including a new manufacturing plant that’s expected to be operational by the first quarter of 2021.
Trex unveiled their Enhance Basic decking material earlier this year at the International Builders’ Show, promising an affordable and low-maintenance material for building new decks. Among its other features, Trex composites are mostly made from recycled polyethylene and reclaimed wood fiber, making it ideal for homeowners who want eco-friendly materials for their homes.
